Dottor Gain was born in Rome on July 31, 1981.
He is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and composer.
He began studying the piano very young and then devoted himself to self-taught study of guitar, bass and then to drums. Of a very eclectic and extremely curious nature, he cultivates various passions over time, ranging from sports motorbikes – with which he races amateurally – to die cast model, passing through vintage cars and lutherie, a passion that will lead him to build his first electric guitar in 2009.
Strengthened by a great passion and creativity, he founded several groups in order to compose and play music until he managed to perform during the final selections of “Un disco per l’estate” on the stage of RAI (the most important italian TV channel). Mainly influenced by hard rock and metal, he has always ventured also into projects with seemingly more distant sounds, leaving himself to be contaminated by genres such as classical music, soul, reggae and progressive, just to name some.
In 2006 he completed the first full length of “Sensoinverso“, a band that cleverly blends Hard Rock and Italian HipHop which, already thanks to excellent reviews in specialized newspapers like Metal Shock, will play on the most important stages of Rome for all the years later.
Also in 2006 he finished his first solo work, “Finally Free“, with Power and Trash metal inspiration, where for the first time all the music is written, arranged and recorded by his own. Here starts his solo adventure.
In 2014 he recorded his second album “Memories“, more varied than the previous one, where the first more structured orchestrations took shape.
in 2019 the third solo album “Endless” was born, also thanks to the collaboration with Volcano Records and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Lorn Lande, etc) who took care of the mastering. Endless is a concept album that tells a love story and traces the main moods experienced by the protagonist. Instrumental and sung songs alternate ranging from metal to progressive rock. Music and words chase each other throughout the album, accompanying the listener on a journey through emotions, one for each song, such as passion, courage, anger and madness.
Also in 2019, Dottor Gain asked the singer of the Honey Bombs – Andrew “the eagle” Skid – with whom he had played in the past, to join his solo band as keyboard player, but at the end, the roles soon reversed and HoneyBombs to recruited Dottor Gain as their new guitarist!
